In this digital era, everything we do should be in simple way with the help of technology, because we run of time to achieve our target. In addition, technology has important role in helping us to do our activities. Now, Drone come for us with advantages that can help us in some activities which not easy to touch before and become easier to touched by Drone, for example making films, air photography, food delivery, seacrh and rescue and even mapping.
Drones is crewless mini aircraft flown by remote control and radio frequencies, are becoming increasingly popular amongst technology lovers throughout the world. Drone provide a way for users to see a large area of inventory without having to leave their desk. This is like sulotion for people that work in this field, Drone can help them to make their job easier, Because Drone can reach media access in hard places.

Drone as a multifunctional tool in digital era

INTRODUCTION

Do you know flying robot. that can help us making films, air photography, food delivery, seacrh and rescue and even mapping ???
In this digital era, technology always developing to help us eaiser when doing our activities. Nowdays, An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a Drone, come for us with some advantages that can help us in some activities which not easy to touch before and become easier to touch with Drone, for example making films, air photography, food delivery, seacrh and rescue and even mapping. According to The information Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Drone is an aircraft without a human pilot on board. Its flight is either controlled autonomously by computers in the vehicle, or under the remote control of navigator, or pilot (in the military UAVs called combat system officer) on the ground or in another vehicle.
Nowdays, Drones are becoming increasingly popular amongst technology lovers throughout the world. Drone provide a way for users to see a large area of inventory without having to leave their desk. This is like sulotion for people that work in this field such as Cameraman, Police Officers, Photography Lovers, and etc. Drone can help them to make their job easier, Because Drone can reach media access in hard places.
Here we will classify the drone as a multifunctional tool in this digital era based on its function, According to SRI Blog. There are 5 functions of drone, such as The drone can save lives, contribute to safe infrastructure maintenance and management, can give media access in hard places, can streamline agriculture management, and as tool for food delivery.

DISCUSSION

The meaning of Drone

According to The Information Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Drone is an aircraft without a human pilot on board. Its flight is either controlled autonomously by computers in the vehicle, or under the remote control of navigator, or pilot (in the military UAVs called combat system officer) on the ground or in another vehicle.

The factors make Drone as a multifunctional tool based on its function

Nowdays, Drones are becoming increasingly popular amongst technology users throughout the world. Drone provide a way for users to see a large area of inventory without having to leave their desk. This is like sulotion for people that work in this field such as Cameraman, Police Officers, Photography Lovers, and etc. Drone can help them to make their job easier. Because Drone can reach media access in hard places. Then, I classify Drone as a  multifunctional tool based on its function below :

1.    Drone as a tool to save lives
Drone can be used to search lost people.

According to dronelife.com, Drones help locate missing child. After spending almost two weeks lost in the Siberian forests and swamplands, four-year-old Karina is finally going home–and it is all thanks to a drone. On July 29th, Karina went missing from the Yakutia Republic in Russia; however, due lack of communication between the child’s parents, authorities were only notified of her disappearance on August 3rd.
In order to cover 30 kilometers of dense forest and swampland, authorities exhausted their manpower and all technologies available to find the missing girl.  Search parties, sniffer dogs, helicopters, specialists, and drones made up the team of rescuers looking for Katrina. After surveying the vast area, an unmanned aerial vehicle spotted Katrina sitting in tall grass and was able to direct rescuers to her location. Katrina was immediately taken to the hospital where she remains in stable condition.

2.    Drone as a tool to safe infrastructure maintenance and management

Consider the difficulty of inspecting the underside of a bridge or the top of a skyscraper, not to mention the costs and risks. With Drone, scaffolding, cranes, or harnesses are not required. Just deploy the system to assess the structure's condition remotely.
According to The Jakarta Post (30/6/2015), The Jakarta Police plan to deploy five drones to monitor traffic during the Islamic holiday of Idul Fitri.
Jakarta traffic police chief Sr. Comr. Risyapudin said on Tuesday that drones were more effective for monitoring because heavy holiday traffic would limit monitoring on the ground.
“We’re using drones because the traffic will be very heavy, so it’ll be harder for us to get around,” Risyapudin said as quoted by kompas.com on Tuesday.
Risyapudin added that the police planned to deploy the drones to monitor traffic heading to the eastern parts of Java and to Merak port in Banten, routes normally congested with people heading to their home regions to celebrate the holiday.
The police, he said, would work with private parties, including TV stations, in the procurement of the technology.
As well as monitoring congested areas, the drones would also be used to predict traffic hot spots, he said.

3.    Drone as a tool to streamline agriculture management
Using a crop management system to observe, measure, and respond to variability in individual plants, farmers can target areas requiring attention. By pinpointing these areas, farmers can provide care only where needed—improving yield, conserving resources, and avoiding waste.
According to The Jakarta Pos (17/9/15) showed The prototype of a quadcopter was flown over half a hectare of rice fields in Sui Itik village, Kubu Raya regency, West Kalimantan, to look for agricultural “enemies”. With a GPS and two cameras, the crewless drone is capable of detecting diseases that may pose a threat to rice plants. Claimed to be the first ever conducted in Indonesia, the tryout was carried out by Swandiri Institute of Pontianak, the capital city of the province, with the support of the UN Development Program (UNDP). Swandiri Institute director Hermawansyah said that the drone had thus far been mostly used to take aerial pictures or for area mapping purposes. “By modifying it, we try to detect pests on crops to ease farmers’ tasks and at the same time push the government to adopt the measure,” he said.
Hermawansyah said his institute had invited agricultural experts from local universities to prepare for disease analysis and rice productivity prediction based on the data recorded by the drone. Rice plants on average are ready to harvest in four months. As such, food drones are best used when the plants are two months old. That way the right treatment can be applied in the third month according to the analysis based on the visual image captured by the drone.
4.    Drone as a tool to give media access in hard places
Aerial photography for a news broadcast, tourism spot or a blockbuster film can be efficiently, economically, safety captured by Drone.
Accoding to The Jakarta Post Travel (11/3/15), The Indonesian Drone Community, along with other brand-specific communities, joined forces and formed an association officially known as the Indonesian Drone Pilot Association (APDI). While there are no specific rules for flying drones yet, the APDI understands and is willing to educate its members to be more responsible when flying them.
On a positive note, the APDI really knows the great benefits of drones that are equipped with cameras, especially in promoting places or locations in Indonesia, which led them to partner with gadget accessories company Gadgetciti to hold an Aerial Visual Drone Challenge.
“This event is the first of the many programs that we, the APDI and Gadgetciti, agreed upon. This competition also acts as a proof of our concern about the beauty of tourism spots in Indonesia,” said Fajar as the acting chairman of the APDI .
In the competition's finals, 10 finalists will be judged on how many votes they get from social media viewers and 10 more finalists will be judged by a jury. All of them will then be invited to a trip to explore and capture the best aerial views on Mandeh Island in West Sumatra. The winners with the best pictures will then be rewarded with the latest drone product from DJI and Parrot.

5.    Drone as a tool to delivery food
Food delivery is one of the great joys of modern society. You can order whatever kind of food you want and have it delivered to your doorstep to enjoy in the comfort of your own home, without ever having to lift a finger -- after the finger you lifted to select your Seamless order. Delivery has become so commonplace. But, An Italian restaurant in Mumbai called Francesco's Pizzeria delivered a pizza by drone to the delight of the entire city and maybe the world. Domino's has also tested its own pizza delivery drone. It's called the "Domicopter."

CONCLUSION

Drone is part of the development of technologies that rise to helps us in digital era today’s. We recognize the  development of technologies can help us in some fields. In addition, technology has important role in helping us to do our activities. Now Drone come for us with some  advantages that can help us in some activities which not easy to touch before and become easier to touched by Drone, for example making films, air photography, food delivery, seacrh and rescue and even mapping.
Drones are becoming increasingly popular amongst technology lovers throughout the world. Drone provide a way for users to see a large area of inventory without having to leave their desk. This is like sulotion for people that work in this field, Drone can help them to make their job easier. For example Drone can save lives, contribute to safe infrastructure maintenance and management, can give media access in hard places, can streamline agriculture management, and as tool for food delivery. Drone can help us in many ways. In other hand, drone is a multifunctional tool in this era.
